Fort Campbell, KY. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The 101st Sustainment Brigade “Lifeliners” of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) broke ground Monday on a new memorial honoring fallen soldiers of the unit.
Brigade Commander, Colonel Stanley Silwinski, talked about remembering the fallen soldiers.
“For those who have never left the battlefield we must hold them up in our hearts and honor their memories. Soldiers are our nation’s treasure and the legacy of our fellow Lifeliners is indescribable. Today we recognize those bonds and sacrifices of our fallen soldiers,” said Sliwinski.
Sliwinski added that the memorial site will be much more that a compilation of statues and monuments. He said it will be a place that will give the Lifeliner soldiers a place of recognition and a place for all Americans to know how the Lifeliners contributed to the nation’s history.
