CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Millan Enterprises, a residential and commercial real estate company, has announced plans for a large mixed-use development at the corner of Jefferson and North First Street in downtown Clarksville.

According to a news release, the development, called the Millan Center, will encompass an entire city block and feature retail spaces, townhomes and the “Millan” building.

At 10 stories, the building will be the tallest in downtown Clarksville, Rylan Kean, director of business development at Millan Enterprises, told Clarksville Now.

Millan Enterprises is owned and operated by Leo and Lillie Millan and has a history of development in downtown Clarksville. Over the past few years, they have transformed the Old Northern Bank Building into a multi-space office building with over 25 tenants and recently opened The Press, Clarksville’s premier coworking space, in the old Leaf-Chronicle building.

“We’re so excited to start the beginning stages of our dream project. For years, we’ve been affirming our desire to be a part of Clarksville’s revitalization, specifically downtown. This project will be a huge step toward that goal aesthetically, economically, and intentionally. We’re proud to have such a strong and compassionate team to help us start this journey—because this is just the beginning,” Leo Millan said in the release.

The Millan, a 340,000-square-foot multi-level mixed-use building, will have approximately 114 residential units and 15,650 square feet of commercial office space. Amenities will include a gym, club room, and rooftop pool for tenants and guests.

Millian said that the total project will provide 465 parking spaces, including 335 structured parking spaces. The residential units will feature a mixture of studios, one, two, and three-bedroom units and multi-story lofts.

Planning is also underway for an additional 5,800 square feet of commercial space and 15 townhomes. Rufus Johnson Associates, a Clarksville planning, architectural, and interior design firm, has been selected as the lead designer for the project.

“We are extremely excited to be a part of this project team. This development is a testament to the growth Clarksville-Montgomery County is experiencing in our downtown. First and foremost, I tip my hat to the Millan family and their team for their significant investment in our downtown. Additionally, to our community leaders who have helped set forth this great resurgence we are experiencing, thank you,” said Daniel Binkley, lead architect.

“Building great projects by building great people first. This core belief drives our team to dream big and focus on real community advancement by blazing uncharted territories. Our hope is that this project is a catalyst for others to believe in Clarksville’s downtown and inspire them to dream big as well. We believe the community will be proud to have this project, and we are excited to be a part of this beautiful community we call home,” Dean said.
