MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – A woman was killed and another was injured in a fiery crash that occurred Thursday around 1 a.m. on Hwy 48-13 in Montgomery County.
According to a report from Tennessee Highway Patrol, an SUV driven by 25-year-old Krysten Jobes of Crofton, Ky. gradually left the roadway for an unknown reason.
The vehicle then hit a speed limit sign, took out a construction sign, and the front wheel struck a culvert, causing it to flip onto the driver’s side.
A passing driver stopped to help and was able to knock out the back window and pull out the passenger, 25-year-old Mirnada Moore of San Francisco, California.
The passerby attempted to pull the driver out, but she was stuck. The vehicle then caught fire and was totally engulfed.
Jobes was killed in the crash. Her passenger, Moore, was injured.
The report says alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
