CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), a concrete railing on the I-75 southbound ramp to Atlanta collapsed onto the I-24 westbound ramp in Chattanooga Monday afternoon.

Police say one person was hurt but is expected to be okay after crashing into the concrete.

TDOT says they have inspected the bridge and deemed it safe, however, both ramps will remain closed while crews put a concrete barrier rail on the I-75 ramp.

Both ramps are closed but are expected to reopen tonight.

The state says permanent repairs will take weeks.
