Kirkwood High sophomore wrestler Janiya Johnson competed in a collegiate wrestling tournament at the end of December, which was comprised of All-Americans, national finalists and even an Olympic Silver Medalist. However, Johson did not let that intimidate her, as she placed third at the 2024 Soldier Salute Women’s Wrestling Tournament.

West Creek High junior guard Kameron Bowers has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following his consistent play over the week of Dec. 9th. In that time frame, the Coyotes went 2-0 and defeated their rival Northeast High and defending state champion Chatanooga Prep.
Northwest High hosted the Clarksville High Wildcats on Wednesday night for a rematch between the two programs. Earlier this season the Vikings defeated the Wildcats at Clarksville High, and then yesterday they completed the season sweep with a win at home, 63-49, led by Makhi Rasheed’s 17 points.
Clarksville High traveled to Northwest High School for a matchup with the Lady Vikings on Wednesday, and CHS used their physical defense, and 26 points scored from Malon Smith to clinch a 55-11 victory.
