The postseason is finally upon us for spring sports in the Clarksville area and while some teams are already deep into the playoffs, others are just getting their postseason journeys started. Let’s take a look at some storylines this postseason.
The Clarksville Wildcats flag football team traveled across the river to Montgomery Central High School for a win-or-go-home semifinal matchup with the Indians on Monday.
The Kirkwood High Cobras soccer team traveled to Northwest High School for an inner-city matchup with the Vikings. The Cobras netted two first half goals and pitched a shutout on the defensive end to earn a 2-0 victory on the road.
Northeast High shortstop Jamarion Green has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following his performance in five games for the Eagles during the week of April 14.
The No. 5-seeded Kirkwood Cobras team traveled to Kenwood High School to face the No. 4-seeded Knights in a win-or-go-home district quarterfinal flag football playoff game on Monday.
Rossview High School boys and girls assistant soccer coach Ashley Beck is all-in when it comes to supporting the kids on her teams. But she’s also all-in supporting the kids in her classroom, which is few miles away at Northeast High.
Clarksville Christian two-way player Anna Cheasty has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following her performance against Franklin Road, where she went perfect at the plate and pitched a complete game with 12 strikeouts.
The Clarksville Academy Cougars softball team hosted the Nashville Christian Eagles at the Clarksville Academy Sports Complex for a district matchup. While the Cougars pulled in front early, Nashville Christian scored 11 unanswered runs to a 12-2 win in six innings.
