CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – After recently volunteering to serve breakfast for Manna Café, the Rossview High School cheerleaders have decided to assist the organization in another way.
The girls “saw an immediate need beyond food donations for the beloved charity,” when they observed the large amount of people lined up at the facility for personal care items, and decided to host the first Charity Cheer and Dance Jamboree.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 12 at Rossview High School. Dance and cheer teams from Clarksville-Montgomery County high schools, middle schools and elementary schools will be featured. The event is open to teams of all grade levels, all competitive cheer and dance teams and Clarksville Junior Pro cheer teams. Tap and step teams will not be able to participate in the 2015 event due to a lack of proper flooring.
A portion of the proceeds will go to Manna Café. Personal care items including travel-sized tooth brush and tooth paste, soaps, razors, feminine hygiene products and shampoo, will also be accepted as donations. Small, travel size and individual use sized items are preferred.
The RHS Cheer coaches hope to host the event in the future, with the expo increasing in the years to come.
