MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is warning the public of a possible scam involving leftover asphalt.

Scammers claim to offer the product at a discounted price, but asphalt is perishable and useless if cooled too much.

The company operates under several names: J.R. Y Construction, Johnny Asphalt, Johnny Young Asphalt, or young and Cooper Asphalt. The suspects may be driving a 2012 black Dodge Ram. Anyone who comes in contact with these individuals should notify the Sheriff’s Office immediately at 931-648-0611, ext. 1290.

Sheriff John Fuson suggests concerned citizens find reputable asphalt contactors through the Better Business Bureau of Clarksville at 931-503-2085.
