CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – S.T.E.P.S. (School Tools that Empower and Promote Success) is looking for sponsors to help collect school supplies for local children in need.

The organization was created by Alexis Mihalinec, the reigning Miss Clarksville Teen USA 2015.

Since the program began four years ago, it has raised over $17,700 in school supplies and other essentials for less-fortunate children. Last year, S.T.E.P.S. helped prepare 600 children for school with the help of sponsors like the Clarksville Running Club and the Wilma Rudolph Charity Run.

S.T.E.P.S. aims to serve low or no income families, but will not turn away anyone who requests assistance.

To contact the organization, like their Facebook page and send a message including the number of children in the immediate family, their ages, grade in school, and gender.

For more information, contact Alexis Mihalinec at dsmihalinec@gmail.com.
