CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A woman and a child were injured in a crash Saturday afternoon after a vehicle went airborne on Needmore Rd.

According to a news release, 34-year-old Deborah J. Moore was driving a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer on the 700 block of Needmore Rd. when her vehicle left the roadway and hit a ditch, causing it to go airborne. The vehicle hit two mailboxes and a tree before coming to rest on the driver’s side.

Moore told police she swerved to avoid another vehicle that was in her lane.

She was transported to Gateway Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Her 3-year-old passenger, who is not her daughter, was transported by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries as a precautionary measure.

No charges have been filed.
