Twila Canfield Nicholson, age 59, of Clarksville, passed away Christmas Day after a heroic battle with cancer.

She was born July 13, 1955 in Oakland, CA to the late Leon and Anna Canfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Fauni Agerton.

Twila was a very friendly, outgoing, loving person. She loved to make new friends. Twila was the kind of person that would give you the shirt off her back and more if she could. She loved to bowl, do anything outside, read books and watch murder mystery shows. She spent a lot of her time playing with the grandkids. They were her world, between teaching them to swim to spoiling them with ice cream cones they loved her just as much. She loved life. She was the biggest animal lover…even though she had two dogs Mojo and Pudgy, she loved to sit and look at the ones to be adopted.

Twila is survived by her husband, Danny Nicholson; son, Daniel Shane Nicholson and his wife Rachel; daughter, Shannon Noel Harris; grandchildren, MacKenzie Nicholson, Evan and Gavin Harris; Brother, Rocky Canfield; sister, Cheryl Perry.

Those serving as pallbearers were Victor Nicholson, Norris Heggie, Walt Heggie, Bob Zimmerman, Logan Milliken, and Jason Huber.

Family received friends from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014, and again on Monday from 10 a.m. to noon at Sykes Funeral Home. The funeral service was at noon on Monday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
