Lawrence Speight, age 85 of Clarksville, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at Grace Healthcare of Clarksville.
Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
The Funeral Service was at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Byron Dumas officiating. Visitation was from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014 and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial followed in the Seay Cemetery in Indian Mound.
Lawrence was born in Old Hickory, TN on December 22, 1928 to the late Lawrence Harned and Mary Eliza Slayden Speight.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ida Grasty Speight; brother, W.T. Speight; sister, Mildred S. Wilder and grandson, Thomas Lott.
He was former owner of Speight’s Barber Shop, retired from the Trane Company in Quality Control and was a Christian.
He is survived by son, James T. (Joan) Speight; daughters, Rita (Carl) Wilson, Rosemary Speight; sister, Eva Jean (Joe) Stitt; sister-in-law, Manie Speight; grandchildren, Chad (Nicky) Seay, Francis (Nicole) Lott, Rachel (Jonathan) McClanahan, Amber Owens, Chris (Shae) Harrison; great-grandchildren, Connor Seay, Kayleigh Seay, Hannah Lott, Jack McClanahan, Henry Lott and Haley Harrison.
Family served as pallbearers.
