CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – As bitterly cold temperatures cover the area, the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region is working hard to help many people who are struggling to stay warm, and they are desperately in need help from the community.

Each year throughout the winter months the United Way collects donated heaters as well as monetary donations which are used to buy heaters to give to those who need them. Heaters of all different sizes and types are accepted and greatly appreciated.

Ginna Holleman, Executive Director of the United Way said that in November and December they had received many donations of heaters from the community who have been very generous. “We have distributed all of those at this time,” Holleman said.

Holleman added that right now they do not have any heaters and there is a waiting list of people who are in need of heaters and as the temperatures drop the list grows. “Particularly this week and as we move through the remainder of the winter that list will continue to increase,” said Holleman.

If you would like to help someone stay warm, donated heaters can be dropped off at the United Way office at 529 N. 2nd Street, Suite 1 in Clarksville or for more information about the heater collection drive call the United Way at 931-647-4291.
