NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 31-year-old woman gave birth in a taxi cab Monday morning outside a strip club in downtown Nashville.
It happened around 8 a.m. in the parking lot of Deja Vu on Demonbreun Street just off Interstate 40.
The cab was on the on the way to the hospital with the woman in labor. The taxi driver pulled over when it became apparent they were not going to make it to the hospital.
When EMS crews arrived, the woman had already given birth and the baby was in her lap. According to the crews who responded, Nashville Fire Department Public Information Officer Brian said the mother and baby were both “happy and healthy.”
Both were taken to Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital.
