According to a news release, the victims had just left the BP gas station on Lafayette Rd. around 9:30 p.m. and were traveling to the area of Woodale Dr. when they noticed a vehicle approaching them from behind as they got closer to Donna Dr.
The passenger, who was not injured in the shooting, said as they reached the stop sign the vehicle swerved and pulled up beside them. The victim said he heard eight gunshots come from the vehicle before fleeing the scene.
The victim said he didn’t realize the vehicle he and the other victim were in had been hit until the driver said he had been shot, at which point the two drove to a nearby residence to ask for help.
The victim who was injured confirmed the story, but neither could give a detailed description of the other vehicle. Both said it was a dark-colored, 4-door car.
The injured victim was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center to be treated for his injuries, where he was listed in stable condition.
No suspects have been identified at this time.
