CLARKSVILLE, Tenn – A large, long-haired, and very vocal cat that made its way to the studios of 5 Star Radio and Clarksvillenow.com was the star of the morning show on three radio stations.

Oreo was the topic of discussion on Ryan & Gretchen in the Morning on Q108.

“I found him outside the door, meowing very loud so I just scooped him up and brought him inside,” said Gretchen of Q108, where the cat was the topic of discussion as soon as the show started. “I love animals,” said co-host Ryan. “I just like them better when they are at their own home.”

The cat made its way down the hall to Z97.5 where Tiffany & Tyler in the morning featured the cat, took some selfies, then shoo’d him next door to Fletch and Bailey in the Morning on Beaver 100.3 FM where for the first time since arriving the cat went mute. “I guess he’s mic shy,” said Bailey, laughing.

Bailey of Beaver 100.3 got extra points for providing cat food for the in-studio guest.

“If we weren’t full at the inn, that cat would be going home with me,” said Fletch. “I love that cat.”

Fletch of Beaver 100.3 seriously wanted to keep Oreo for his own menagerie.

Thanks to social media, “Oreo” has been reunited with owner Jaime Welker, who lives just off Old Russellville Pike. “I saw him on the Cats R Us Facebook page and I said ‘dang you Oreo’,” she said.

Welker, who is a volunteer with the pet adoption group, said Oreo is not an outside cat, but apparently slipped away sometime Tuesday night. “We have other pets, and Oreo is kind of the momma for them,” she said.

Though Oreo is not available, there are many adoptable pets available. Follow this link to meet some now.
