James Neil Reese, 64, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at his residence.
James was born on October 2, 1950 in Tulsa, OK to the late Neil Reese and Opal Blackwell Reese.
Funeral service will be held at noon on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West in Hopkinsville, KY. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2014 and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home.
James retired as a Warrant Officer with the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. He was a helicopter pilot during his military career. He was a 1968 graduate of Kawasaki High School in Okinawa, Japan. He graduated from Florida State in 1972. He joined the Peace Corp in Nepal, where he met and married his wife in 1975 in Katmandu, Nepal.
James is survived by his wife of 39 years, Diane Schmieder Reese; three children, Lynn Reese, Joanne (Jason) Bryant of Columbus, OH, and Neil Richard (Melanie) Reese of Clarksville, TN; brother, Gary Reese of San Clemente, CA; two grandsons; and two granddaughters.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
