CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The LEAP Organization is planning their 5th annual Step and Dance Crew Challenge at West Creek High School on Saturday, October 25.
The event will take place between 3 p.m. and 6 pm. with a $5 admission fee. Children under seven will get in free. Proceeds will benefit youth performing arts and allow more participants to attend youth enrichment programs.
The event will showcase the talents of many of Clarksville middle and high school students in step and dance routines. Several fraternities and sororities will demonstrate their talents as well. Comedian DJ Pryor will MC the event with a special performance by Clarksville Dancing with the Stars participants. Vendors will be available during intermission.
Each team will have between five to seven minutes to perform and will be judged based on routine fundamentals which include showmanship, use of floor, precision, timing and overall performance as well as other requirements.
“We provide youth opportunities to become involved in their community and we love to bring together our youth at this event to showcase their talents,” said Richard “Reason” Garrett, program founder.
