CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville Fire Rescue responded to a house fire just after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 7 at 111 Preston Drive. Firefighters arrived on the scene with heavy smoke coming from inside the home and had the blaze under control in about 15 minutes.

There was only one occupant at the residence at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. Two cats and one chicken were lost in the fire. Fire Marshall Ray Williams says the cause of the fire has not been determined but the blaze appears to have started in a rear bedroom. The house suffered extensive heat and smoke damage.
