HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – The Christian County Chamber of Commerce, located in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, is in search of a Director of Military and Governmental Affairs. Application deadline is Friday, October 10, 2014.
The is responsible for setting the course for, supervising and directing all aspects of Military and Governmental Affairs, along with the MAC Advisory Board, Governmental Affairs Committee and Chamber President.
Programs include working strategically with FTC, Clarksville and Oak Grove to assist the post in becoming a center of excellence. Organizing events in support of Fort Campbell soldiers and families. In addition, the Director will work with the Government Affairs committee on creating an annual legislative agenda for Government Affairs, maintaining close ties with federal aides and legislators, and coordinating trips to DC for lobbying purposes.
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Military service preferred. Candidates who have experience with legislative or regulatory groups, coalitions or lobbying is a plus. Candidate must have exceptional communications skills and the ability to interact well with others, orally and in writing. Candidate must be diplomatic, articulate, and concise. Candidate must be very people-oriented and enthusiastic. Candidate must be willing to work flexible hours and have strong computer skills, with Microsoft Office programs, Internet, and e-mail. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and provide own transportation.
