HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A Hopkinsville man was arrested after allegedly attempting to murder his wife Monday night.
According to a police report, 51-year-old Timothy Preston Hale struck his wife multiple times with a hatchet and punched her in the face.
When the victim tried to run, Hale pulled out a .45 caliber pistol and said “I’m going to end it, I’m going to put her down,” according to the suspect’s adult son, who witnessed the incident.
Hale chased his wife with the pistol, but the son was able to disarm him and throw the gun into the back yard of their home.
The victim was flown to Skyline Medical Center where she was listed in critical condition.
Hale was arrested for attempted murder and booked into the Christian County Jail. His bond was set at $100,000.
