CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – More than a year after opening their first location on Madison Street, the New York Butcher Shoppe has announced they’ll be expanding with a second location off of Trenton Road.

New York Butcher Shoppe owner Taylor Rather confirmed the news with Clarksville Now this week, and he said the goal will to be open three locations.

“Our goal is to open three here in Clarksville, I think that’s been our goal from the beginning,” Rather said. “We’ve had so many customers from that side of town (near Trenton Road) that have expressed their want for us over there. This is our way trying to be closer to them, while getting them good meat and dinner.”

‘It’s exciting to bring the business to the other side of town’

“Honestly, we came here a little scared as anybody would be opening a new business,” said Rather’s business partner, Joni Haston. “Sango has been amazing; Clarksville has been amazing, and it’s exciting to bring to bring the business to the other side of town.”

Rather said he’s loved every chance of getting to know customers, and the expansion could not have been achieved without their staff as well.

Rather encouraged new customers to try their certified Angus branded beef, premium grocery items, prepared meals and nightly dinners.

Rough estimate of new location opening

While a timeline hasn’t been established, Rather said Clarksville should expect the Trenton Road shop to open possibly by March 2027, in the shopping center at 2670 Trenton Road across from Jenkins & Wynne. Plans are for the new location to include a soda foundation with craft sodas selections, and an outdoor seating area.

“We get emotional talking about it, but we truly love what we do every day,” Haston said. “We always say here in the shop, ‘It’s a yes until it’s a no.’ We always try to find a solution for the customers and make their lives a little easier and leave here with a good impression.”
