Update, Thursday, Sept. 10, 8 p.m.: A Special Weather Statement has been issued by the National Weather Service due to a strong thunderstorm moving near Dover, according to the MoCo Information App.
“At 7:56 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Dover, moving northeast at 25 miles per hour,” said the NWS. The statement also said wind gusts could get up to 40 mph, and the impact could be knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
Locations expected to be impacted by the thunderstorm include Dover, Clarksville, Big Rock, Cumberland City, Indian Mound, Palmyra and Woodlawn.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – While Clarksville-Montgomery County should expect some showers and thunderstorms this weekend, mostly sunny weather is also forecasted for weekend weather.
According to the National Weather Service, a chance of showers and thunderstorms are anticipated for before 11 a.m. today, and also before 4 a.m. tonight. Otherwise, it’ll be mostly sunny weather with a high near 93 and heat index values as high as 101.
For Friday, NWS says that there is a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5 p.m., but the weather should be mostly sunny with a high near 90 and head index values as high as 99. There is also a chance of rain and thunderstorms on Saturday after 1 p.m., otherwise, mostly sunny weather is expected.
Lastly, on Sunday, while the NWS says to expect fog in the morning, the weather will otherwise be sunny, with a high near 91 and calm wind in the afternoon.
