UPDATE: Interstate 24 back open after vehicle fire near Clarksville

Update, 12:22 p.m.: The interstate is back open and traffic is returning to normal, with lingering backups.

Update, noon: Traffic is backed up past Exit 8 to mile marker 6.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Interstate 24 eastbound has been closed just past Clarksville due to a vehicle fire.

At 11:20 a.m., TDOT announced the eastbound lanes have been shut down between Exit 11 and Exit 19. Traffic is being diverted at Exit 11. The fire is near mile marker 12.
