Update, Aug. 19: The driver of the SUV was cited and released for no proof of insurance; no other charges are expected. The teen was in stable condition Wednesday with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery, CPD said.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A 14-year-old was hurt in a bicycle crash Tuesday afternoon with an SUV near West Creek High School.

At about 2:30 p.m., Clarksville Police responded to Black Oak Circle for a collision between the bicyclist and an SUV, according to CPD Lt. Melissa Spielhagen. The child, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered injuries and was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville by LifeFlight.

Investigators with the Clarksville Police Department’s FACT team were on the scene investigating the crash.
