CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – After winning nine consecutive arena football games to conclude the 2026-27 AF1 regular season, the Nashville Kats (11-1) will begin their postseason journey on Sunday, Aug. 2, when they face off against the Michigan Arsenal (6-6) at F&M Bank Arena.
Michigan enters the contest on their own winning streak. After beginning the year with a 2-6 record, Arsenal won four consecutive regular season games to enter the playoffs on a high note. After clinching a playoff spot, Michigan went up against the Kentucky Barrels in the AF1 quarterfinals, winning 70-36.
Now, Arsenal will be facing the No. 1-seeded Nashville Kats, who not only scored the most league points this regular season, but their defense also gave up the least. The last time Michigan played Nashville was at the halfway point of the season. The Kats took it 68-51, which included Nashville scoring 28 points in the second quarter.
The Kats also defeated Arsenal during their season opener in Clarksville 78-40, according to previous reports.
The Nashville Kats versus the Michigan Arsenal is expected to kickoff at 3 p.m. Sunday, then the winner will face either the Albany Firebirds or the Minnesota Monsters in the AF1 Championship game.
Nashville is undefeated against both Minnesota and Albany on the season, however, every time the Kats have played the Firebirds, it’s resulted in narrow victories.

- June 20, Nashville vs. Albany – 78-69.
- July 11, Nashville vs. Albany – 57-54.
