CLARKSVILLE, TN – Clarksville Community Theatre is proud to invite audiences to its inaugural production, Museum, by playwright Tina Howe, opening July 31 and running through Aug. 2.
Set inside a bustling art museum over the course of a single day, Museum offers a witty and heartfelt look at the people who come to admire the artwork and the stories they unknowingly bring with them. As visitors wander from exhibit to exhibit, audiences are introduced to an unforgettable collection of characters whose conversations range from hilarious to deeply moving. The result is a comedy that reminds us that people can be just as fascinating as the art they come to see.
The production marks a milestone for Clarksville Community Theatre, a nonprofit organization founded to create accessible, high-quality theatrical experiences while fostering creativity, education, and community connection throughout the region.
“Launching our first production is something we’ve dreamed about for a long time,” said Riley Braem, chair of Clarksville Community Theatre and co-director of Museum. “This show celebrates curiosity, imagination, and the wonderfully unique personalities we encounter every day. It felt like the perfect way to begin this new chapter for community theatre in Clarksville.”
Co-directed by Braem and Brittany Thompson, the production features a diverse cast of experienced performers alongside actors making their community theatre debut.
Since its launch earlier this year, Clarksville Community Theatre has already established educational programming for young people, hosted community events, and welcomed hundreds of residents eager to become involved in the performing arts.
