CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The third Q-Up the Classroom radiothon raised $48,480 to help the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation buy back-to-school supplies for the CMC Teacher Warehouse, thanks in part to a huge matching donation from social media influencer Nina Pool.

During the radiothon, CMCSS teachers answered the phones to collect donations, and nationally syndicated radio show hosts Erik Zachary and Jordan Foster with XYZ with Erik Zachary came to town to finish out the fundraising in the Clarksville studio. Q108 was joined by the Central High School Band, Cheer and Dance, and the West Creek High School Band.

Making special appearances on air were Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts, County Mayor Wes Golden, Austin Peay Basketball Coach Corey Gipson, APSU Football Coach Jeff Faris, Nashville Kats players, Miss Clarksville and Miss Teen Clarksville, state Sen. Bill Powers, and state Reps. Michael Lankford, Ronnie Glynn and Aron Maberry.

The final guest was social media influencer Nina Pool, @ninaghoulina, who spoke of her own experiences in school growing up. Just when it looked like the total raised was going to be $24,240, Pool announced she was doubling that with a matching donation, making it $48,480 – the most raised yet by Q-Up the Classroom – drawing both applause and tears from those in the studio.

What is Teacher Warehouse?

The Teacher Warehouse, provided by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation, is a free supply store available to CMCSS teachers. Teachers have access to donated supplies for the benefit of student achievement. In the past 15 years, the store has saved local teachers an estimated $800,000 in out-of-pocket expenses.
