CLARKSVILLE, TN – The James N. McCutchen Detachment 603 Marine Corps League presented a $500 scholarship to Cheyenne Binkley. Cheyenne graduated from Cheatham County Central High School and will enter Austin Peay State University in the fall, majoring in Business and Philosophy.
The Detachment sponsors annual scholarships to APSU for graduating seniors from our area. These awards memorialize First Sgt. Loyal E. Conard, USMC (retired) for his leadership in the Marine Corps and community.
Applicants submitted an essay entitled “The Most Important Leadership Trait of the United States Marine Corps.” Of the 14 traits, Cheyenne chose dependability. In her winning essay, Cheyenne emphasized the need to establish trust in all those you lead.
