CLARKSVILLE, TN – Montgomery Central had a big week, winning a district title on Tuesday night in Cunningham and regional title on Thursday night in Fairview, punching their ticket to the State Championships next weekend for the first time in over 20 years.

In the District 14 finals, Montgomery Central boys’ defeated Fairview 48-29, and then beat them again in the Region 7 finals 46-31 with wins in both by 106 Aden Perkins, 113 Wesley Sudderth, 126 Jack Levendusky, 132 Jackson Key, 150 Tamarion Johnson, 157 Alex Babuscio, 190 Cayson Rasch, and 215 Zach Nord. Scoring pins in both matches were Perkins, Sudderth, Levendusky, Johnson, Rasch, and Nord.

The Indians (26-1) passed through the sectional round when #2 finisher Brighton, in the Memphis district, chose to forfeit their dual.

Clarksville teams advancing

While MCHS is headed to the State Championships in division A, Kirkwood and Clarksville High are also heading to the State Championships in division AA. Kirkwood won both district and regional titles with wins over Clarksville. Kirkwood defeated Bartlett 33-32 in the sectional state qualifying match and Clarksville took out #1 Collierville 33-30.
