Sunday, July 27 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Wilma Rudolph Blvd. and Ft. Campbell Blvd. Wal-Mart locations

The Foundation says teachers spend between $500-$1000 per year in-out -of pocket expenses to help outfit their classrooms with additional learning materials, books, basic supplies, and more to ensure students have all they need to be successful in class.

Teachers can find paper, pencils, dry erase markers, flash cards, learning games, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, office supplies, art supplies, STEM materials, and other supplies in the free teacher supply store.

In the past three years, more than 86,000 items have been donated through “Stuff the Bus”.

In addition, more than 1,140 teacher shoppers have utilized the CMC Teacher Warehouse this past school year. This resource has provided nearly $36,000 in supply savings to local public school teachers.

On both Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27, 5 Star Radio will be present with on-air personalities to help lead this effort. Interested citizens can drop off supplies or make monetary donations during this time.

Volunteers are still needed to support the drive and the “Unstuff the Bus Days”, July 28-30, which will be hosted at 1312 HWY 48 Central Services South to unload, organize, inventory, label and stock the collected supplies from the Stuff the Bus event in preparation for the re-grand opening July 30. Interested volunteers can contact Rebecca Dyer at 920-7928 or Rebecca.dyer@cmcss.net.
