Larry Carl Sheppard, age 65, of Clarksville, died Friday, July 18, 2014 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
He was born in Clarksville, TN, to the late William Herbert Sheppard and Mary Louise Graham Sheppard. Larry was also preceded in death by one daughter, Courtney Sheppard; six brothers; and two sisters.
Mr. Sheppard was a life-long member of Immaculate Conception Church and attended St. Mary Catholic School. He was founding president of Sigma Chi’s APSU Chapter. Larry taught math at Sycamore High School for twelve years and at Immaculate Conception Catholic School for three years.
Funeral Mass will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Father David Gaffny officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, where a Sigma Chi White Rose Ceremony will take place.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, July 21 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the church.
Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
Larry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Vicki Sheppard; two daughters, Melissa (Chris) Jones, of Nashville, and Karla (Travis) Meeks, of Clarksville; one brother, Pete (Maxine) Sheppard, of Clarksville; four sisters, Margaret Nunley, Barbara Jeanne (Steve) Elliott, and Patricia (John Doris) McElroy, of Clarksville, and Rose Harris, of Michigan; and five grandchildren, Owen Christopher Jones, Emma Claire Jones, Lila Kate Meeks, Sophia Rue Meeks, and Benjamin Luis Meeks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Endowment Fund, in care of Immaculate Conception School, 1901 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37040.
