CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Junior Auxiliary of Clarksville is currently seeking women interested in community involvement and connections to join its Provisional Class for 2014 – 2015.
To be eligible for membership, women must be 21 years of age or older with a residency in Montgomery County for at least nine months. Interested individuals should send an email to Junior Auxiliary including their full name, age, mailing address, and phone number by July 31.
The organization is a group of women who render charitable services to the children in the Clarksville-Montgomery County community. Junior Auxiliary has a variety of service projects throughout the year that focus on helping those in need, as well as providing the basic necessities of life to local children.
Each December, Junior Auxiliary hosts “Gingerbread,” an event where local children and families in need are given Christmas dinner baskets and gifts to be opened on Christmas morning. Twice each school year, “Healthy Kids Kits,” containing necessary hygiene items, are distributed to approximately 100 children in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. Junior Auxiliary also joins with the Department of Children’s Services to host an Easter Egg Hunt for local children in the spring, and JA members also participate in the Back to School Bash which provides children with school supplies at the start of each school year. To raise funds for these service projects, Junior Auxiliary hosts the annual wine tasting event, Cheers for Charity.
