Joseph “Rick” Richard Henderson, 63, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at his residence.

Rick was born December 1950 in Dalton, GA to the late Jake Henderson and Betty Sue Smith Henderson.

A celebration of fife will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Hendersonville Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Jerry E. Rimer officiating. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Rick retired after 20+ years of service as a driver for UPS. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He loved the God of Heaven and took great pride in serving him. He was a deacon of the Hendersonville Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was involved with personal ministries at the church. He was a volunteer for Health-Hope Ministries, camera man, and audio tech. He was an avid reader. He was a member of the Antique Car Club in Hendersonville and the Model Railroad Association. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1972. He was a kind and loving father and husband who will be missed greatly by friends and family.

Rick is survived by his wife, Julie Escue Henderson of Hendersonville, TN; two sons, Zach Henderson of Anchorage, AK and Robert Henderson (Caitlin Owen) of Hubert, NC; daughter, Katherine (Jesse) Saville of Ft. Lewis, WA; step-son, Daniel Armstrong of Hendersonville, TN; two step-daughters, Andra Armstrong (Delton Chen) of Sanford, FL and Sara (Tim) Holloway of Hendersonville, TN; sister, Jan (Gary) Chaffee of Kennesaw, GA; and grandson, Noah Saville.
