CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Academy sophomore running back Jayden Ladner has been named Clarksville Now’s Player of the Week following his performance in the Cougars’ 46-0 win over Fort Campbell. Ladner only had five rushes on the night, but he made the most of them each as he found the endzone three separate times.
While he had great blocking from his offensive line, on each rushing touchdown, Ladner had to shake off a few defenders, showing off his balance and power on his way to paydirt. In addition to his 3 touchdowns, Ladner also finished the game with 60 yards rushing and 3 tackles on the defensive end of the football.

His performance helped lead the Cougars to a 2-0 start to the season, which is the best start the program has had in five years.
“Being the winner is an honor, and it just shows how much more work I put into this off-season,” Ladner told Clarksville Now. “I want to thank my offensive line and teammates for helping me find the end zone, as we know, none of this happens without the support from my teammates. Also, thank you to my trainer, who has worked with me this offseason to help me see the game/field better as well.”
Coaches corner
“Jayden is a great young man and is the team’s energy player!” said Cougars head coach Steadman Bell. He celebrates harder for his teammates than for himself, but the energy, toughness, and love that Jayden plays with is unmatched, and with that passion and getting him in the end zone 3 times meant everything to not only the RB room, but the program as a whole! I’m beyond proud of him, and we’re looking forward to more opportunities for Jayden and others to put their talents on display the rest of the season while coming away with victories.
