CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire that killed two dogs and one cat in north Clarksville on Thursday evening.
On the night of August 7, at approximately 7:16 p.m., firefighters with Engine 7, District 2, Ladder 6, Engine 5, Battalion Chief, Squad 1 and Ops 2 were dispatched to Cranklen Circle for a reported structure fire, according to CFR spokesperson, Codie Kunstmann.
Upon arriving, first responders observed smoke and flames coming from the backside of the home. According to Kunstmann, control was called at 7:43 p.m., and the fire was considered out by 8:30 p.m. No residents were inside at the time of the fire.
During a routine search, a cat and turtle were found and taken to a veterinary office. Unfortunately, two dogs and a cat were found deceased, Kunstmann said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
