“Being named all-state means everything to me,” Jones told Clarksville Now. “It’s more than just an award; it represents all the early mornings, late nights, and sacrifices I’ve made to get better. I’m grateful to be recognized and glad my team was supportive.”

Jones podiumed at the TSSAA State Championship for the discus throw, placing third with a 36.44M throw. Jones earned her place on the podium as a junior, while the silver and gold medalists were both seniors.

“I am super proud of Marie,” said Kenwood High head girls’ track coach Anthony Bracken. “Her work ethic is unparalleled by most, and her results show. She is literally the last one to leave practice on a daily basis. I am definitely looking forward to the upcoming track season. Her potential is unlimited, and she is a true leader on the track and in the classroom.”
