CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A bicyclist and a truck crashed on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway Tuesday afternoon.
At about 3:53 p.m., there was a “serious traffic collision involving a truck and a bicyclist,” on MLK near New South Drive, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien. The bicyclist is being flown by LifeFlight helicopter to a Nashville hospital.
Northbound lanes of MLK Parkway are shut down between Fire Station Road and New South Drive. “Motorists are strongly advised to seek alternate routes until the scene is cleared and the roadway is reopened,” Beaubien said.
At 4:15 p.m., eastbound traffic on MLK was backed up to Old Farmers Road, and westbound traffic was backed up almost to Interstate 24.
