CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville Rotary Club welcomed a new President at their meeting Wednesday, July 2 at the Clarksville Country Club. It was a very special time for the club, not only having a new leader in Betty Burchett, but also the first woman president.

The Clarksville organization, part of Rotary International, was chartered in 1917 and boasts close to 90 active members. With a committment of “Service Above Self” the Rotary Club hosts a number of fundraisers with the proceeds going back into support for the community

Burchett talked about her new role as club president. “I’m excited to serve and I appreciate them believing in me. I really want Rotary to serve the community and make an impression on Clarksville and make it a better place to live,” said Burchett.
