CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The chances of severe weather in Clarksville this weekend are increasing, with damaging straight-line winds and tornadoes possible.

There is a 90% chance for rain and thunderstorms Friday night, according to the National Weather Service. Through the weekend, Clarksville could get rainfall in excess of 2 inches, which could lead to flooding. The chance of rain Saturday afternoon is 70%.

“Details regarding timing and specific threats are still a bit sketchy,” the NWS said Wednesday. “These details will become clearer as we get closer to the event.”

We’ll have unseasonably warm weather nearing 80 degrees leading up to the storms. The high will drop to about 60 after the storms clear away.
