CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Additional details have emerged about the shooting at Walmart on Christmas Eve, including that the 19-year-old held a gun to a woman’s head and threatened her children before he was shot several times.
On Dec. 24, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Clarksville Police responded to reports of shots fired inside the Walmart at 1680 Fort Campbell Blvd. Police later said Labron Gibson, 19, was the primary aggressor and was shot several times. The man who shot him acted in defense of his family, they said.

According to an arrest warrant obtained by Clarksville Now, officers observed security footage that showed an argument between Gibson and a couple.
Gibson pulled out a gun and placed it on the head of the woman, cutting her eye in the process. Gibson made threats to kill the couple and their two children, ages 4 and 2, while waving the firearm . The man then retrieved his own gun, firing several rounds at Gibson.
According to previous Clarksville Now reports, people inside the store heard three shots from the grocery freezer area. Amid yells of “shots fired,” people panicked and rushed out the main and emergency doors, setting off alarms.
Gibson sustained multiple non-lifethreatening gunshot wounds but was able to drive himself to Tennova Healthcare before being transported to Nashville for further care.
Gibson was found to be the aggressor, and a firearm was recovered in his vehicle, police said. He was charged with four counts of aggravated assault.
This isn’t the first time Gibson has been a suspect in a high-profile crime. In July 2022, when he was 17, he and other juveniles escaped from a Department of Children Services (DCS) transport van and carjacked a vehicle at the Waffle House on Riverside Drive, according to police.
