CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The holidays have always been the season of giving, and Grace Dental is encouraging you to spread kindness throughout the community. If you are looking to share some Christmas cheer, here are 10 great ideas for you:

1. Take some time while you are at the grocery store to pick up a few extra food items. Donate that food to one of our local food pantries like Loaves and Fishes, Manna Café Ministries or Urban Ministries to help fill the plates of those who are hungry.

2. While you are out doing your holiday shopping, you are sure to see and hear Salvation Army bell ringers with their red kettles. Drop a donation of money into the kettles which will be used to support those in need all year long. You can also volunteer to be a Salvation Army bell ringer.

3. A big part of Christmas is of course children and toys. Toys for Tots has locations inside businesses all over town where you can drop off unwrapped toys for children of all ages. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville, as well as Crisis 211 are also accepting donations of toys for children.

4. Consider volunteering at YAIPak in Clarksville and provide support, comfort and resources for those individuals who are homeless. You can also make donations of clothing, hygiene items, household supplies and much more.

5. You can get behind local animal shelters and organizations that support animal care. The Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County, Mikaela’s Mutt Motel and Montgomery County Animal Care and Control are just a few.

6. With nearby Fort Campbell, supporting those who serve our nation is a top priority for our community. The Montgomery County Veterans Coalition, USO Fort Campbell and the Armed Services YMCA and others are there for the military, veterans and their families.

7. Partner with one of the schools in Clarksville-Montgomery County to help provide warm clothing, school supplies, or meals for children and their families over the holiday break.

8. Volunteers are always one of the biggest needs of so many nonprofit organizations. Volunteering is something that is important year-round, but especially during the holidays, because there are so many charity groups working hard to support and comfort those in need.

9. There are also many community events and activities that share a focus on charity. The holiday season is a time to share kindness, give grace, and help make the world a little brighter by sharing together.

10. The United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region is an excellent organization for sharing your support. The United Way has 23 local nonprofit agencies with a total of 30 programs that benefit the community in many different ways.

This holiday season, let’s all share kindness, give grace, and together we can make our community and the world a little brighter.
