CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville High girls’ basketball coach Brian Rush earned his 400th career victory on Tuesday night after the Lady Wildcats defeated Creek Wood High School 42-41.
“Being a part of 400 wins means being a part of 400 plus memories, and I treasure each and every one of those memories,” Rush told Clarksville Now. “As a coach, I never won a game, but I am honored to have witnessed the blood, sweat and tears that the current and former Wildcats put into the program as they earned those 400 wins.”
Rush has served as the Clarksville High head coach since 2005 and has collected several accolades in his tenure with the program. He owns not one, but two undefeated regular seasons with one coming in 2012 and the other one coming just last season. The only two undefeated seasons for high school girls’ basketball in Clarksville’s history. Rush has only had four losing seasons in his 20 years as head coach.
Rush has also collected eight district championships, five region championships and six state tournament appearances since 2005. In addition, Rush has coached eight 1,000-point scorers and two 2,000-point scorers. Now, he looks to add to those accolades this year, as his team currently sits undefeated with a 4-0 record.
