CLARKSVILLE, TN − Kroger broke ground this week on its fourth – and much larger – store in Clarksville, a new 123,000-square-foot Kroger Marketplace on Needmore Road.
Bringing around 150 new jobs to the area, the store will offer expanded amenities, including a Starbucks, Murray’s Cheese, The Little Clinic, a fuel center, and a broad selection of grocery and household items such as clothing, appliances and home goods, according to a news release. As previously reported, the new store is about 50,000 square feet larger than a typical Kroger grocery, and about three-quarters the size of a Walmart Supercenter.

Kroger has served Clarksville since 1988 and has three existing locations: Madison Street, Dover Crossing and Lowe’s Drive.
“We’re honored to deepen our commitment to this community by opening a fourth store here,” said Sonya Hostetler, division president. “Today’s groundbreaking reflects a $41 million investment in Clarksville and Montgomery County, which we are proud to make. We’re grateful to this community and we’re excited to grow alongside you.”
The store is expected to open in late 2025.
