CLARKSVILLE, TN − On Nov. 9, the community came out to celebrate the grand reopening of Governor’s Square Mall, which has just completed a multimillion-dollar renovation.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at the mall’s main entrance, followed by a day filled with festivities, including musical entertainment, celebrity look-alikes, food sampling, children’s activities and costume characters from Marvel comics. The celebration will continue later this month with an aerial drone show. The exact day and time of that show will be announced soon.
Mall merchants reported robust, near record sales throughout grand reopening day, due to an incredible throng who came out to participate in the celebration and view the physical transformation the mall has undergone. The renovation incorporates luxurious new floor, wall and ceiling finishes with advanced lighting systems. New seating and interior décor was selected for a clean, modern look. Beautiful new signage directs visitors to an ever-growing list of new businesses.
The exterior of the complex received similar improvements, with repaving, new landscaping, an upgraded LED pylon signage on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and a completely reconstructed entrance that matches the sophistication inside. Next to that entrance, a striking new art installation has been erected, proudly proclaiming the Tennessee heritage of Governor’s Square.
Governor’s Square Mall, located at 2801 Wilma Rudolph Blvd., has been serving the community since 1986. It comprises over 1 million square feet of retail space, anchored by Dillard’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Belk Outlet, JCPenney, Old Navy, Target, Ross Dress for Less, Burlington, and Dave & Buster’s (opening Nov. 25) plus more than 100 other specialty shops and services. In May, 2025, a new Phoenix Theatres will debut for cinema-lovers. For more information, visit online at www.governorssquare.net.
