Howard W. Good, 98, of Corpus Christi, TX, passed away on October 25, 2024, at the Tennessee State Veterans’ Home in Clarksville, TN.
He was born in Meeker, OK on February 10, 1926, to George and Mabel Kahlor Good. He grew up in Shawnee, OK where he worked at the Shawnee Garment Factory and obtained a BS in Physics from the Oklahoma Baptist University. He was a Korea War Era Veteran serving at Fort Detrick, MD.
He married Nellie Lou Jordan, and they were married for 57 years. They were married on July 22, 1955, in Shawnee, OK. For several years he worked at Tinker AFB as an engineer. They moved to Corpus Christi, TX in 1968. He worked for the US Army as a hydraulic and pneumatic engineer supporting helicopter repairs at the Corpus Christi Army Depot. He retired after 50 years of government service.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Lou Jordan Good; parents, Mabel Kahlor Good Norman and George Good; stepdad, Albert Norman; three brothers: Herman (Gila) Good, George (Yuki) Good, Jr., and Kenneth (Ollie) Good; his daughter, Karen Good Baker; nieces: Jan (Jerry Bohannon), Cathy (Tim Shoemaker), and Debi (Bob Renegar).
He is survived by his son, Gary Good; daughter-in-law, Lettie Good; son-in-law, Glenn Baker, grandchildren: Justin (Courtney) Baker, Mathew (Rachel) Baker, Alexa and Stephen Smith, and Kenneth and Jaqueline Good; and numerous great grandchildren. Special friends include Nicholas (Nick) and Bonita Hurta, and Larry and Delia Quisenberry.
Howard’s remains will be interred with his wife at the Coastal Bend State Veterans’ Cemetery in Corpus Christi, TX.
