CLARKSVILLE, TN − Local author and Halloween enthusiast/extremist Matt Schorr will haunt Rick’s Comic City in Clarksville on October 30 for a book signing appearance with titles like Attack of the Zombiesaurus Rex, Moby Dick: Back from the Deep and more.
Rick’s Comic City, located at 1923 Madison Street, arrived in Clarksville in 2015, boasting “the largest selection of new comics and trade paperbacks in the Middle Tennessee area.” Matt’s appearance coincides with the weekly arrival of new issues, so visitors can expect the latest comic book issues alongside Matt’s devilish delights.
Clarksville may best remember Matt for his previous weekly humor column in the Leaf-Chronicle newspaper, “The Hard Way.” It told the ongoing trials and tribulations of a newlywed turned father with two little ones who, as Matt tells it, “Doesn’t have a single clue what he’s doing.”
The online community best knows him as the creator of Moby Dick: Back from the Deep, which earned him a Crowdfunder of the Year Comix Award, and Jesus Christ: Demon Slayer, which earned him several questioning side-eyes from residents of the Bible Belt.
Matt and his wife, Amanda, have also made names for themselves with their home haunt and spooky publishing house, Schorr Manor Studio. Their YouTube channel has more than 3,700 subscribers and roughly 56,000 views each month, and their publishing library currently has 20 terrifying titles.
