CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A Clarksville man has been charged with causing the fatal car crash last November that killed a woman on Guthrie Highway.
On Nov. 5, 2023, at approximately 4:15 a.m., deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a head-on collision near the 4200 block of Guthrie Highway.

Tammy Biggins, 53, was driving a 2013 Kia Forte southbound on Guthrie when a 2021 Nissan Versa travelling northbound crossed into oncoming traffic and hit her head-on. Biggins died at the scene from her injuries.
The driver of the Nissan, 22-year-old Nicholas Wade Hawkins, was injured in the crash. Charges against Hawkins were pending as law enforcement began their investigation.
On Sept. 17, 2024, 10 months after the crash, Hawkins, 23, was arrested on two charges: vehicular homicide-driver intoxication and vehicular homicide.
