UPDATE: Interstate 24 traffic back to normal after crash in Clarksville

Update, 12:10 p.m.: Traffic has returned to normal.

Update, 9:45 a.m.: Exit 4 is now open. Westbound traffic has one lane open, but traffic is still backed up to Exit 8.

Previously:

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Interstate 24 westbound has been blocked by a crash at mile marker 3.

At 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Clarksville Police were assisting the Tennessee Highway Patrol with traffic control at the crash site, according to police Lt. Charles Gill.

“Both lanes are blocked, and CPD is asking the public to avoid the area until further notice,” Gill said. “If you are unable to avoid the area, be prepared for a long delay.”

At 8:45 a.m., traffic was backed up past Exit 4 to about mile marker 5.
