Billy Ray Rittenberry, age 88, of Chapsmanboro, TN, passed away on, Thursday, August 8, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Billy was born on September 10, 1935, in Clarksville, TN to the late Jesse W. Rittenberry and Myrtle Christine Rushing. Billy is also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann Sisk Rittenberry; brothers, Fred and Harold Rittenberry; sisters, Elsie Mae Moore, Margie Ann Head, Carol Jean Johnson, and Janet Eileen Newman.
Billy is survived by his son, Thomas William Diggs; daughters, Sabrina (Mike) Greenfield and Gina (Brian) Sargous; grandchildren, Clay (Tandra) Greenfield, Matt (Ashley) Diggs, Ben Diggs, and Hayley Sargous; great grandchildren, Nash Greenfield, Crew Greenfield, and Avery Diggs.
Billy spent his life working as a Commercial/Industrial construction Superintendent at TW Frierson. After retirement, Billy found joy working his property on his tractor and enjoying the outdoors; in his last years, Billy developed a fondness for watching Westerns and sitting with his cat, Izzy. Billy was a loving family man who enjoyed many meaningful friendships. He is loved by many and will be missed by all.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home with Rev. Harriett Bryant officiating. Visitation will be on from 12:00 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home. Burial to follow directly after the service at Bethel Cemetery in Sango.
